Bless His Name

Parody of "What's Your Name" by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Parody Lyrics by Jeff James (the Paro-dud)
Well, the greatest God you boys and girls could know.
He guided Bible writers, mister. May we choose the Lord.
I'm gonna take a stand and praise Him all the night.
I'll find a little time and I know must greet Messiah.

CHORUS:
Bless His name (will the world?). Bless anyway.
You can obey (will the world?). He removes our shame.

Back at the Lord's house now, we're taught and we're blessed.
It seems that what you will do has more joy. His Son is the best, ah yes.
Will you puh-lease bless? I can't think it's too hard to give praise.
Oh, won't you cast your cares, world, and halt and think on His name?

Chorus

It's nine AM on Sunday, I'm beggin' to go.
I got big, loving smile so wide for those won to Lord, to Lord.
Can I get you to God's own home? It's what He's planned.
When I come back here next week, you gonna (take a bold stand?)/(be a new
man?)

Chorus repeat

Note: Jeff James has written several Parodeities over the years. He has been gracious enough to rewrite many of the parodies appearing in the Parodeity section on Webster. He's done a great job improving some of these tunes in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. I'm absolutely thrilled that he has taken it upon himself to make these improvements; I had hoped when I put all my work in the public domain that it would encourage some people to make these types of modifications to the Parodeities to improve them. It is exciting to see someone doing this kind of work; I hope that Jeff's excellent work will encourage others to write new parodies or "ReVerse" existing parodeities. -- Randy Hyde

BTW, if you don't understand the "Paro-Dud" moniker, visit ApologetiX' site and check out the name of Karl Messner's production company; then you'll probably get the play on words.
