Fire In The Thorns | |||||
Parody of "Riders on the Storm" by The Doors
Parody Lyrics by Jeff James (the Parodud)
| (Exodus ch. 3-4, with apologies to the Doors ;-) Fire in the thorns, Fire in the thorns. When Moses was in Horeb, Saw angel of the Lord. Why the bush like this does burn? Aside then he must turn. Fire in the thorns. His sandals he must unload. On where he's standing's holy road. He heard from God of Abe. Afraid, hid his face, And God heard His people's cry. They'd soon be rescued by Fire in the thorns. Sure, you'll help your fellow man. Sure, you're sent by the I AM. Take them to their land. He'll help you to stand. You'll worship at mountain. Your race will never end. You're sent by the I AM. Fire in the thorns, Fire in the thorns. (Think you your tongue is slow)/(Though you think your tongue's slow), The king will let them go To where milk and honey flow. You'll get silver and gold. Fire in the thorns, Fire in the thorns. | |||||

| Note: Jeff James has written several Parodeities over the years. He has been gracious enough to rewrite many of the parodies appearing in the Parodeity section on Webster. He's done a great job improving some of these tunes in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. I'm absolutely thrilled that he has taken it upon himself to make these improvements; I had hoped when I put all my work in the public domain that it would encourage some people to make these types of modifications to the Parodeities to improve them. It is exciting to see someone doing this kind of work; I hope that Jeff's excellent work will encourage others to write new parodies or "ReVerse" existing parodeities. -- Randy Hyde BTW, if you don't understand the "Paro-Dud" moniker, visit ApologetiX' site and check out the name of Karl Messner's production company; then you'll probably get the play on words. | |||||
