Free Will

Parody of "Free Bird" by Lynard Skynard

Parody Lyrics by Jeff James (the Paro-dud)
If our Jesus came tomorrow, could you join the jubilee,
Or would he say "I don't know you 'cause there's too many stains. Depart
from Me!"?
'Cause He's slayed to save the whole world, and He showed how we are saved.
Though you're free, trust His word now, and His word can make a change,
And His word can make a change.
Lord, help me, I'm in chains!

When you die, Savior, He won't redeem ya, if His child you would not be.
Then He'll give a real hot clue how you'll spend eternity.
'Cause He's slayed to save the whole world, and He showed how we are saved.
Though you're free, trust His word now, and His word can make a change,
And His word can make a change.
And His word can make a change.
Lord, help me, I'm in chains!
Lord, help me, I'm in chains!

It's your free will.
Free, free, free will

Note: Jeff James has written several Parodeities over the years. He has been gracious enough to rewrite many of the parodies appearing in the Parodeity section on Webster. He's done a great job improving some of these tunes in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. I'm absolutely thrilled that he has taken it upon himself to make these improvements; I had hoped when I put all my work in the public domain that it would encourage some people to make these types of modifications to the Parodeities to improve them. It is exciting to see someone doing this kind of work; I hope that Jeff's excellent work will encourage others to write new parodies or "ReVerse" existing parodeities. -- Randy Hyde

BTW, if you don't understand the "Paro-Dud" moniker, visit ApologetiX' site and check out the name of Karl Messner's production company; then you'll probably get the play on words.
