Give the Gospel News Still
Parody of "Listen to the Music" by The Doobie Brothers
Parody Lyrics by Jeff James (the Paro-dud)
| We need people growing, share my faith. Jesus said it (yet it's not in Luke). Sixteenth chapter, but in Mark. Yes, you've got to tell the news today. What the people need is some faith, godly lifestyle. Saints can talk to you and show you now. Gotta spread His message. Yes, it's true. Oh, now don't you wanna get some new ones saved? CHORUS: Oh, oh, oh. Give the gospel news still. Oh, oh, oh. Give the gospel news still. Oh, oh, oh. Give the gospel news still To all the dyin'. Well, when I spoke of the Savior, everyone should pray. Preach it in all countries so they've saved. See what happens and give thanks. Oh, we're gonna thank the true Creat'r. And if my deeds are good to you and your deeds are good to me, That is something more than we can say. Keep it good, keep it right. Oh, Savior, help them choose Your way. Chorus Died to save me, the Forgiver. Abounding grace He will supply. With our mouths we must deliver. Listen for unhappy ones and we got to tell of Christ Chorus repeat | |||

| Note: Jeff James has written several Parodeities over the years. He has been gracious enough to rewrite many of the parodies appearing in the Parodeity section on Webster. He's done a great job improving some of these tunes in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. I'm absolutely thrilled that he has taken it upon himself to make these improvements; I had hoped when I put all my work in the public domain that it would encourage some people to make these types of modifications to the Parodeities to improve them. It is exciting to see someone doing this kind of work; I hope that Jeff's excellent work will encourage others to write new parodies or "ReVerse" existing parodeities. -- Randy Hyde BTW, if you don't understand the "Paro-Dud" moniker, visit ApologetiX' site and check out the name of Karl Messner's production company; then you'll probably get the play on words. | |||
