Kin? I Wonder

Parody of "Land Down Under" by Men at Work

Parody Lyrics by Jeff James (the Paro-dud)
Famine stings, in a plight (Naomi).
Gone on tricky trail, get to Moab. She,
She's with a great lady, Naomi's courteous.
She took Ruth in and cared so steadfast.

CHORUS:
Boaz man, is he kin? She wondered.
Where women glean for their supper.
Spare some ears, spare some ears for hunger.
He spread on her, he spread his cape, covered.

Might be dead in this land, don't fuss so.
See who's ... this field's own-er, well I'm puzzled.
She said, "They don't speak-a your language."
Ruth just smiled and prayed that the Lord, He might handle.

Chorus

Finding favor then (came long way).
Did love Boaz, she followed new trail.
She said to Boaz, "Will you try to redeem me
Because husband's from this land and country?"

Chorus repeat

Note: Jeff James has written several Parodeities over the years. He has been gracious enough to rewrite many of the parodies appearing in the Parodeity section on Webster. He's done a great job improving some of these tunes in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. I'm absolutely thrilled that he has taken it upon himself to make these improvements; I had hoped when I put all my work in the public domain that it would encourage some people to make these types of modifications to the Parodeities to improve them. It is exciting to see someone doing this kind of work; I hope that Jeff's excellent work will encourage others to write new parodies or "ReVerse" existing parodeities. -- Randy Hyde

BTW, if you don't understand the "Paro-Dud" moniker, visit ApologetiX' site and check out the name of Karl Messner's production company; then you'll probably get the play on words.
