Latter Days Will Be Dark

Parody of "Saturdays in the Park" by Chicago

Parody Lyrics by Jeff James (the Parodud)
(Dan. 9-11, Matt. 24, Rev. 13, sorry, Chicago ;-)

Latter days will be dark. The king that's from the north will defy.
Latter days will be dark. The king that's from the north will defy.
Demons prancin', evil happens.
A man says, "Here Christ is!". Kingdom's are battlin' on.
Is it very easy? Hardly! Can you miss it? Yes, you can,
And I've been praying such a long time 'bout latter days.

Latter days will be dark. The king that's from the north will defy.
Latter days will be dark. The king that's from the north will defy.
Evil stalkin', will get violent.
A man then will hit hard (a man, he's strong, makin' his wrongs, they fall),
And sinning all day long (sinning all day long)
'Til he then enslaves the world. Can you miss it? Yes, you can,
And I've been praying such a long time 'bout latter days.

Commotion's high then, like no other - wars and 'quakes.
A proud man will then get glory 'til one day.
Listen, children! Count up the cost, must not be lost! Oh, no, no!

Scores of weeks near the dark, "devil" from the north will arrive.
Scores of weeks then in dark, "devil" from the north will defy.
We are preachin'. Hope you're wantin'
God's regeneration, praising with the throng (praising with the throng).
If you want it, really want it, must repent then (yes, I have),
And I've been praying such a long time 'bout that day. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Note: Jeff James has written several Parodeities over the years. He has been gracious enough to rewrite many of the parodies appearing in the Parodeity section on Webster. He's done a great job improving some of these tunes in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. I'm absolutely thrilled that he has taken it upon himself to make these improvements; I had hoped when I put all my work in the public domain that it would encourage some people to make these types of modifications to the Parodeities to improve them. It is exciting to see someone doing this kind of work; I hope that Jeff's excellent work will encourage others to write new parodies or "ReVerse" existing parodeities. -- Randy Hyde

BTW, if you don't understand the "Paro-Dud" moniker, visit ApologetiX' site and check out the name of Karl Messner's production company; then you'll probably get the play on words.
