The Holy child, Herod reviled. A glad wood-shaping One -
His hands were meant for Christian work, and His heart second to none.

Discerned His love, did disciples – a bumbling, twelve-men band.
His gentle means of sculpting souls took them years to understand.

‘Cause His blood was strewn – Christ gives to men, then He longed ta win their souls.
Their lives have been just poor attempts to imitate “I AM”.
They’re just from Heaven’s embassy, through the lēader of twelve men.
The brothers’ lives were diff’rent though they heard His lovely call.
Some then sure fished lots though, then they’re brothers, like St. Paul.
And Simon, John or Andrew, then guy Thomas doubts so well.
Philip, now Levi, Christ chose, then of the Lord they tell.
Guys thank You You’re so human yet Your glory You did show.
Guys thank You for the healing, then the lame guys rise and go.
Guys thank You for Your dying for our crimes – You’re true God’s love.
Like the twelve, I don’t think I’ve said “I love You” near enough.
The leader of twelve men did rise, then. Yes, I’m part o’ His fold.
