Lions' Eyes

Parody of "Lyin' Eyes" by The Eagles

Parody Lyrics by Jeff James (the Parodud)
(Dan. 6, the mane thing is I shouldn't have pride about this
song ;-)

Shifty world was really kind of murky.
Now they hoped once more ta trust in guile.
Ta ditch ol' Dan, then they don't have to scurry.
They'd wrest him from his place that's oh so high.

They can find there isn't grounds to hold him.
My, forevermore the "evidence" did "hide".
Then they make a plot, just thinking of their own selves.
Did a new command from satraps, oh not nice.

Oh, they tell king he must show one more decreeing,
And gun for canny enemies around,
'Cause they know where Dan's bowin' 'fore the evenin'.
He is gettin' on his knees, but kinda down.

CHORUS:
Jew's alive (near lions' eyes)/(Darius sighs).
Daniel's trials (- will he then just die?)/(since the men did lie.)
It taught those clowns, Jew's really wise.
Dan's saved that day from pride and dying, guys.

Near the gov'nor's private house they're coyly staying.
Conspired a mighty scheme, oh but it seemed.
They pry on to then find Dan supplicating
'Cause he praised the real God, faith is surely real.

They want ta do him harm, they plot together.
Deliver? That king solely sure did try.
Aware that rules deemed by Persians last forever,
King's full of shame and grieves, since Dan could die.

Chorus

He's pent up and knows the fellas wronged him.
Aware he might be scarred on skin, from lions.
A trusting time, he's gonna need the Strong One
Because the Savior can keep men alive.

King ponders, now he's never got this shaky.
He's sick, not found is joy, he rues this rule.
It seems Darius isn't entertained, see.
For oh so long, he pleads 'til night was through.

Why, oh why, they're sure they're out of the danger?
They bet the cubs do swell in their bellies.
They went gunnin' now for Jew. My, it's a strange thing.
They're killed down in the earth, and Jew is free.

Chorus

Dan's saved that day from pride and dying, guys.
Funny, Jew's alive and liars died.
