| 2Kings 1:9-16 Fifty dudes, you know they would shout surly Wow, the old king's corps, they were hostile The first captain, he told Elijah "Hurry, You've messed up and the king wants you on trial" Just in spite, Elijah says "God's shown me, How to make it warm for this stooge, who's not nice." And he makes it hot, now cinders they are only Never thought he'd have to give that demo twice Oh, he tells them he's a man of God unbending And if he is, then fire should come down And heat blows, they're all glowing, they're receiving, Retribution for the Captain's words, they've found Chorus: They all died, those fryin' guys From the fire, down from the skies Hot, oh wow, you could surmise To their dismay they're all just fryin' guys 'Nother fifty glide on down their joy is fading But they're not wise, Elijah's wrath they feel And soon the sky is bright no heat abating With the man of God they couldn't make a deal Four or five alarms, did not expect this weather They're wishing they had stayed back 'bout a mile With ashes strewn, guess the Captain's not too clever But being bright just ain't the Captain's style (chorus) Not giving up, the king he is not yet done No failure mars, so once again he tries Third captain comes, but this one he's a smart one You know he prayed, he doesn't want to die No blunder now, this captain he's not crazy Unlike the other two he's not a fool He begs Elijah "please don't make it blazy, So don't get hot, and please, sir, keep your cool." By and by, then an Angel of the Lord brings A word from God: "go tell the king for me You called on Baal, that action now your death brings, Ahaziah's the king that used to be (chorus) To their dismay they're all just fryin' guys To their dismay they're all just fryin' guys | |||
